The Skinny on Holly

Sitting on my couch and wishing the pounds away didn’t work, so it’s on to Weight Watchers

Day 24 April 25, 2008

Filed under: Spring Challenge — holly @ 1:40 pm

My hope was to be down 10 lbs by Day 26.

Cough. Cough.

It’s not happenin’.

Last night (the seminar) was okay. It involved a long, drawn out discussion. Attorneys like to hear themselves talk (I’m one of them!) and with 100 lawyers in a room discussing a hot topic, it went on forever. So, I ate bread and butter after I was done with my dinner. Bad, bad Holly.

But, alas….

I got back on the treadmill this morning. It was only 20 minutes of walking, but I got up at 6 am (after going to bed at 11:30 pm) and did it!

Tomorrow, I will try the running/walking part again. I was hoping to get ahead a little on the running program and jump to Week 3 but I think I’m really, really much more out of shape than I even could admit to myself.

Another thing.

Tracking works.

We all (everyone who’s done WW) know that when you are diligent about tracking, you lose weight. Well, I have not tracked this week. And AF is really rearing her ugly head and will for 4 more days. Ugh.

My Monday weigh-in will not be pretty but I’m still not giving up on losing weight this week. Dammit.

I don’t know how weight watchers works but I know If I keep a food journal and write down my calories I do much much better with my food intake.

Damn that AF though I have had a horrible food week too. It’s like there is this little devil on your shoulder justifying every piece of crap you put in your mouth. Seriously last night (this is so bad) I was craving chocolate so bad that I started eating some chocolate frosting I freeking couldn’t stop eating the shit and ended up feeling so bad I hopped on my recumbent bike for 30 more min just to make me feel a little better about my indulgence.

Keep up the good work. I am glad you are finding the strenght to get up in the morning to get on the treadmill. I heard once that even if you don’t end up getting a full workout you should at least attempt it everyday for like 2 weeks and then you will form the habit of getting up and it won’t be as hard to do it anymore.

So, at my WW weigh-in yesterday, I lost 3 lbs. Then we went out to dinner to celebrate. WHY would I reward myself with food? We went to a Mongolian grill, so it wasn’t too bad. Mostly veggies & chicken. But still. According to WW (late afternoon, fully clothed), I have 15 lbs. to go to be under 200, but according to my home scale (first thing in the morning, no clothes on), I have 10 lbs. to go. I think I’ll go with my home scale. Thanks for helping me to be accountable to someone else!

Good job Jocelyn! I agree that the home scale is always better. I just hate that my weigh-ins are on Mondays. I think I weigh a helluva lot less on Friday mornings.

I am going to go with your plan Melanie. For two weeks, I’m gettin’ up early and getting my lazy ass on a schedule. Getting out of bed is 1/2 the battle, right!

thanks girls for the continued support! I really appreciate it!
